The 50 km long Amalfi Coast offers colourful villages, soaring cliffs and luxury villas perched amongst fragrant lemon groves. Steep, narrow lanes moving up and down the stunning vertical landscape offer incredible views of the Mediterranean sea below.
Start in scenic Sorrento and at Agerola join the “Path of the Gods” coastal hike for its spectacular views culminating in the iconic village of Positano filled with playful pastel-coloured houses. You need to look up as well as down - so take a power boat out and take in the panorama complete with rocky outcrops, buzzing seaside bars and boutiques. At night this whole coastline is alive with sounds and energy.
Much more laid-back is the village of Praiano inviting you to relax and sip freshly made, ice-cold limoncello. A mandatory stop is Amalfi, a beguiling baroque town and then onto ravishing Ravello, long the playground of the rich and famous.
The glamorous islands of Capri & Ischia beckon by boat and, if after you still need an adrenalin burst then don't forget to walk the rim of Europe's only active volcano Mount Vesuvius followed by a spell binding tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum.
